Scarica la locandina-Download the brochure Final stage of a collective research lasted over a year and a half, the conference analyzes the logic, practices and actors of the repression of brigandage in the Mezzogiorno during the 19th century. It frames the decisive unitary conflict in a medium-term context, starting with the processes of politicization and armed mobilization triggered by the Age of Revolutions and Counter-revolutions. The contributions study in particular the role of the security forces, of the civil and paramilitary militias, of the voluntary corps and of the regular armies – above all the Italian national army – in the fight against political brigandage, focusing on the operative dynamics and the experience of the individuals through the war.
