Anna M. Thornton, MAE, is full professor of General Linguistics at the University of L’Aquila. She graduated in 1983, supervised by Tullio De Mauro, and has a PhD in Linguistics (Pisa 1989).
She has visited, for study, research or teaching, various European universities (Vienna, Konstanz, Zurich, and especially the University of Surrey, where she has been Visiting Scholar and then Visiting Professor at the Surrey Morphology Group since 2010).
