Antonio Saccone

Antonio Saccone is a full professor of modern and contemporary Italian literature at University of Naples Federico II. His research activity has focused on the XIX and XX century literary system, especially on writers such as Bontempelli, Marinetti, Palazzeschi, Dossi and Ungaretti. His last book, «Secolo che ci squarti… secolo che ci incanti».
Studies on the tradition of the modern, deals with crucial events of modernity: the moment in which what was considered as modern became tradition. He has been a visiting professor at Yale University, at Paris IV-Sorbonne and at University of Nizza, Sofia Antipolis. He was Director of Degree Course in Modern Philology at University of Naples Federico II.
He contributes to the cultural page of «Mattino» of Naples.
He directs the editorial series “Literatures”, edited by Liguori. He is part of the steering committee of the review «La modernità letteraria».
He is an ordinary member of Accademia di Archeologia, Lettere e Belle Arti of Naples.
