Roberto Pertici teaches Contemporary History at the University of Bergamo, after working in Pisa, first at the State Archives, then at the Scuola Normale. He is the author of numerous publications dealing with the history of intellectuals and cultural production. The latest of these publications is It is Useless to be Right. La cultura "antitotalitaria" nell’Italia della prima Repubblica (Rome, Viella, 2021). He has also dealt with the history of state-church relations, publishing in 2009 for Il Mulino, Church and State in Italy: from the Great War to the New Concordat (1914-1984).
