Vincenzo De Santis is Associate Professor of French Literature (L-Lin/03) at the Department of Studi Umanistici (DipSum), University of Salerno, holder of the Italian scientific qualification for the positions of Full Professor (academic field 10/H1, French language, literature and culture).
His research focuses on theatre and literature in the 17th (Racine, Corneille) and 18th (Voltaire, Sade) centuries, the relations between theatre and politics between the Revolution and the Napoleonic era, the mysticism of the revolutionary period, theatrical philology, and the history of translations. He is part of the research group ‘French Theatre of the Napoleonic Era’ at the University of Warwick, where he also worked as a research fellow. He is membre associé of the CELLF (Centre d’étude de la langue et des littératures françaises), Université Paris-Sorbonne.
