Abstract
The lesson aims to read the different writings of Italo Calvino as essayist, theorist and narrator, in the working hypothesis of consider an internal level of continuity – in diachrony, and with the multiple deviations. But in sidetracking the reader’s “waiting horizon”, the deviations suggest secondary or submerged paths with new revelations. The useful keywords for crossing territories that are specular and – at the same time – asymmetrical and refractive, refer to some recurring problematic junctions, connected to intertextuality, language, ideology, theories of literature, the cultural elaboration of the landscape and the myth.
