Abstract
This double seminar aims to analyse the relationship between theatre, society and politics in the years of the French Revolution. The interventions will focus on the “militarization” of the domestic sphere in theatre, with particular attention to female figures, and on the theme of fratricide in Legouvé’s tragedy, leading to a reflection on the limits of the ideal of fraternité.
