The study meeting intends to offer an accurate historical analysis of the recent volume by Professor Alfonso Tortora: Valdesi. Dal Piemonte alla Calabria (secc. XIV-XVII). The text considers a twofold objective: to deal with marginal issues concerning the history of heresy and it’s spread in Southern Italy, while at the same time looking (sources in hand) on the ways in which the Waldensian heresy was geographically to spread over the southern territory between the end of the thirteenth century and the early sixteenth century. In addition, the author highlights those horizons concerning Waldensian history still to be scrutinized.
