Abstract
The seminar will focus on the use of RBrul, a program that allows you to analyze linguistic data with the aim of quantitatively estimating the influence of multiple factors on linguistic variables. RBrul is inspired by the previous variable rule program VARBRUL, the later GoldVarb and R-Varb and is based on mixed-effects models. The seminar will illustrate how to investigate linguistic variables through multivariate statistical analysis and to perform multiple regression analyzes. The basic guideline provided during the seminar will allow interested parties to conduct an accurate quantitative analysis on linguistic variation.
