The seminar is conceived as an intermediate moment in a collective research project that investigates the processes of representation, spectacularization and mediatization concerning the figure of the brigand between XVIII and XIX centuries. By adopting a transnational and interdisciplinary approach, the seminar deals with the impact of visual, literary and mediatic aspects upon the representations of brigandage, during the years of transition towards a modern system of public communication.
