Arturo Galliais a researcher in Geography, at the Department of Humanities of the Roma Tre University.
His research fields are island societies in the modern and contemporary Mediterranean; historical cartography, also analyzed with a view to digital humanities; the didactics of geography.
He holds the teachings of “Didactics of Geography” and “GIS for Cultural Heritage”.
He has taken part in various research groups and has participated in numerous national and international conferences and seminars.
He has published in the main Italian geographical scientific journals, has edited several volumes and is the author of the Historical GIS monographs. Digital tools for historical geography in Italy (with Grava M., Berti C., Gabellieri N.) (EUT, 2020), The waters of the Nile (Carocci, 2020) and The water resources on the island of Ponza (Carocci, 2019).
