Sabrina Galano

Sabrina Galano is Full Professor of Romance Philology and Linguistics (L-FIL.LET / 09) at the Department of Humanities (DipSUm), University of Salerno.
Her research interests involve different fields of philology and different Romance languages, with particular regard to ecdotics. She has dealt with Occitan, Old-French and Italian fiction; linguistics and studies on the Occitan, Castilian and French languages; of Provencal lyric and French poetry; of interference between literary genres; of Romance versification, of medieval performativity and, currently, of digital philology.
Since 2012 she has been involved in the creation of an online dictionary of the medieval Occitan language, DOC, and of a new research project, NADIR, for the creation of critical editions of narrative novels in digital format.
In 2018 she collaborated with the film production house ‘Palomar’ for the translation from Italian to ancient Occitan of a series of dialogues for the television series The Name of the Rose directed by the director Giacomo Battiato.
